Tesla set to wind down production of Cybertruck

Tesla is winding down production of the Cybertruck at its Austin, Texas factory, the only plant that builds the angular stainless-steel pickup, to make room for more production of its Cybercab robotaxi. CEO Elon Musk announced the change on X on November 6, 2026, with the shift starting around the middle of next year. It is not yet clear whether Cybertruck production will move to another factory or end entirely. The truck fell far short of Musk's 2023 prediction of 500,000 a year, and Tesla has never reported its Cybertruck sales separately. The move reflects Musk's pivot toward robotaxis, the two-seat Cybercab with no steering wheel or pedals, and humanoid robots.
