Stephen Miller to Replace Susie Wiles as Trump's Chief of Staff

President Trump announced on Friday that Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, in a shake-up following sweeping Republican losses in the midterm elections. Today is Wiles's last day in the role, according to her own social media post, and Trump said she would move over to his political operation. Miller, currently a deputy chief of staff and domestic policy adviser, is described as the architect of Trump's mass deportation effort and some of the most far-reaching domestic policies of the second term, particularly on immigration. He has worked for Trump since the first presidential campaign and served all four years of the first term. The Times reports that Miller had for weeks made known through proxies his interest in the job if Wiles left. Source: The New York Times, November 6, 2026.
