Macklemore Accuses Madison Square Garden and Eight Other Arenas of Banning His 'Free Palestine' Tour

Macklemore posted on Instagram on November 6 accusing nine major American arenas of shutting out his 'Free Palestine' benefit tour, naming Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center, Barclays Center, UBS Arena, Intuit Dome, Kia Forum, Crypto.com Arena, Chase Center and Climate Pledge Arena. He said he had been offered dates at the venues through the end of the year by mid-September, but that once the arenas learned the shows were benefits for Palestine, the dates were suddenly off the table. He wrote that in more than 20 years of touring he had never experienced anything like it. A spokesperson for MSG Entertainment disputed the claim, saying the venues are among the busiest in the world with extremely limited availability and that Macklemore is not an arena-level act.
