'Stranger Things' Prequel Spinoff 'Other Worlds' Ordered to Series at Netflix

Netflix has ordered a Stranger Things prequel to series. Titled Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure, the new show is set in the 1950s, with a teaser placing the story in Marion, Nevada in 1955, long before the events of the original series. It follows what happened before Henry Creel, better known as Vecna, was exposed to the otherworldly substance that gave him his powers, with a new cast of heroes and villains. The series was announced on November 6, Stranger Things Day, the date marking Will Byers' disappearance in the show. It is co-created by the Duffer brothers and Kate Trefry, who serves as showrunner, with Joe Wright directing the first three episodes. It is set to debut in 2028 and will film in New Mexico.
